I got one for $14 at walmart, and I would Highly recommend it to anyone who is doing soldering or wiring on their boards... Takes the guess-work on whether you soldered a point right or not...
Case-in-Point:
I am putting a Magic 3.1 mod-chip into my ps2 (for backups of course) and it has 22 solder pts and let me tell you those points are so small they make my eyes hurt looking at them. I solder and then use the multimeter to check continuity between the two points.
The ps2 is just one example but most volt mods require you to use "pots" (R9700pro volt mod is one that does, and I'm pretty sure the IS7 mobo is another) and other components that need to be tested for proper functionality. Save yourself a lot of guesswork and get one!
BTW dont be cheap: get the digital
