How much is MMX, 3Dnow, SSE, and SSE2 used in modern software?

1.) How much speed improvement can you expect from MMX?
2.) How much from 3Dnow? Is it still supported from AMD, or are they going the SSE route?
3.) Is the Athlon XP exactly SSE compatible, or are there not all SSE commands implemented?
