I'm going to setup my first multiboot system tommorow and just wanted to get some verfification and some minor questions answered before i go ahead.
This is what i plan to do... if any of this process seems kind of wack then let me know.
c: win2k system files (1-2 gig)
d: win2k swap file (500 megs)
e: linux (redhat 7.1) system files (1-2 gig)
f: linux swap file (500 megs)
g: win98 (1 gig)
h: Program Files (share the rest of the space)
i: Data
First i am going to win2k professional to format and partion the drive as 1 large disk. Once i am up and running with all my drivers installed i am going to install partition magic. I will then create the following partions
Does that look logical? I've never used linux but i was told that i should use two seperate drives for the installation.
I'm using partition magic just because fdisk is a bitch.
I am also interested to know whether you should install your programs in the same partition as the operating system. Or is one data partion adequate.
Also i appoligize, there has prolly been several threads asking the same question. I did a search and didn't come up with any so thanks for your help.
Other misc info. Harddrive is a lame maxtor 40 gig and motherboard is abit ka7
