Multi window mode in Android AOSP and window profiles?

I just got my Galaxy S4 and I already want to install a regular AOSP ROM.

Unfortunately, I really like the multi-window feature and I think that might be a TouchWiz thing.

- Is there a way to do multiple windows so that I can display my email client and my calendar side by side on AOSP?

- Is there a way to define a "window profile"? I want to click on something once and have it automatically bring up the email client and the calendar side by side. I don't want to have to bring up the multi-view task pane and drag and drop the two windows into position each and every time, and have to do all that over again as soon as I switch to another app.

EDIT: I can create profiles with the MW Manager App - but the app still requires "a Samsung phone and a ROM that supports multi windows."

I'm not sure if anything became of this, but I think they found that the Google version of the s4 had a TW based kernel. The hope was that they could incorporate TW features back into that phone with that, but I don't know what happened. I would check XDA, because anything anybody else would know came from that place anyway.

Personally, I'm a fan of CM, and moreso a fan of the CM ROMs with HALO.

If you want to check out CyanKang or crDroid, I think those are all CM based ROMs with a few cherry picks.

Of course HALO isn't a replacement for multiwindow, but I think it's done more elegantly.

Look for an AOSP themed TW ROM.

On Verizon, Eclipse is awesome. Dunno about the GSM ROM options though.
