Hi, i would like to build a tv wall with 4 old 17" television sets. I search on the web and couldn't find a hardware for it... the only 1 i found is a company based in the UK and they never replied my email. They also don't support 3d graphics and cost over 800Us. i was wondering if anyone know where i should go to get some more info...

i would like to project a full screen computer image splitting them on 4 or more tvs. for example, like playing counter strike with 4 screens displaying different section of the game on different screens. does anyone know what i am talking about? like a tv wall at tv stations...

some people have told me that this will be bad resolution wise and there will be plenty of gap between my screens. but i would still like to try, any comments?

The key to successfully doing this is to have the monitors all calibrated exactly the same, else the difference between monitors (colors, hue, etc.) will really stand out. - especially with static, monotone images. Secondly, having a minimal border between sets; off the shelf monitors will not work for this, as they require additional shielding to avoid being affect by the adjacent monitors and they also have way too much border area, televisions set usually have speakers, controls, etc. as part of the front panel which makes them even less attractive. If you?re really interested in doing this right, LCD panels would work the best today.

I was involved in setting up a video wall about 20-years ago, it was a 4x3 grid (12 monitors) and the equipment needed to split the original signal into 12 separate signals was expensive... at that time I seem to remember a figure of around $30,000 and that?s just the digital splitter!

The equipment we used was made my a company call Tecronics (sp?) The reason I remember this is that I was the poor soul (trying to) put this all together! Call, after call, to their engineering staff trying to get it to work properly. :(

I have been multi monitoring for close to two years now ans it's a subject that really peaks my interest. I ran accross an interesting site the other day and you might find some useful info, here is the Link.

In the Gallery section I found This or This that may be of particular interest to you.

For a really interesting layout check out this setuo or this one.

This guy has something similar to what you are looking for.

Hope this helps.
