I know windows 8 seems geared more towards touchscreen devices, and kinda want to try it out. If i buy a screen with multitouch, will it be the same experience as a windows 8 tablet?

I only ask because i saw this deal on slickdeals:http://slickdeals.net/f/4125153-30-off-refurbished-touchscreen-monitor-DELL-OUTLET

a IPS multitouch screen seems like it should cost much more, so is it worth buying for such a cheap price to try out windows 8?

They use touch for tablets and cell phones for a reason, because you will literally have arm fall asleep using anything bigger moving arm around like you are pointing to people in a stadium.

You will quickly grow bored.

but 140 for a 22" IPS monitor seems like a really good deal anyway. The multi-touch is just a bonus. Besides your arm getting tired, should it work like they intended? or will it suck for some reason im missing?

Don't see any touch options at that link. Do you know what manufacturer/model it was? In Theory yeah a capacitive touch screen would be just like a tablet. So quick tasks could be run quickly by a touch. But besides still needing a way to send a wake up call before touching the screen (keyboard/mouse) another issue would be that a tablet works because it sits on your lap. Using a touch monitor for a PC really only makes sense at POS or on a Kiosk.

If it is resistive or any other tech, run away.
