Multi-touch browsing comes to Android

I've been using it for a few days and it works perfectly.

It's cool that you can replace the built in browser with this one as the default also.

I used it for a day. It seemed to force close a alot and the mutli touch was a bit clunky. It has very good potential, but I will use the built in browswer till an update is released.

When did you try it?

An update came out yesterday.

Title is a bit misleading - HTC Android phones such as the Hero/Droid Eris were already capable of pinch-to-zoom in their browsers. It just wasn't enabled in the Motorola Droid's standard browser for some reason, likely having to do with potential Apple lawsuits.

Google has never included multi-touch capability in any of the standard apps here in the US. Sounds like the Milestone (European Moto Droid) may either have Motorola enhancements or Google enhancements, not entirely sure, but I think some of the included apps will have MT capability.

Google supports it in the code, but the apps included in a Google-Experience phone have never had it. Android phones that do include extra apps or features, have been included by the manufacturer, as they are free to do that since it's an open platform. But Google Experience phones ship exactly as Google stipulates.

All true - this is the first example of enabling pinch-to-zoom browsing on vanilla Android - but as I mentioned, the title implies this is the first time you've been able to to get on any Android device, which is clearly untrue. The Hero is still an "Android device" even though it has Sense UI sitting on top of Android.
