My first post so greetings everyone. What a great motherboard for the money -

i orginally setup the onboard SATA to run a pair of 76Gb Raptors RAID0. I have another divve that's using IDE channel 1 and a CDRW & DVD drives for IDE Channel 2. I also have a SATA DVD burner.

I want to run Vista so I purchased a PCI SATA card and a pair of WD 250Gb Sata drives, set those up as RAID0 and added the SATA DVD drive as well. I have a soundcard issue but I've had this problem before.

I plan on using the F11 Select Boot device to boot from either RAID - anybody see any problems with that? I'd naturally be able to change this through BIOS.

I seem to recall that you can hide disks - I'd rather XP not "see" the Vista drive and I don't want to let Vista writing files on my XP boot drive.

Any suggestions on making this happen woud be appreciated, although I'd rather not have to buy a 3rd party application to chose my boot O/S - Thanks

I don't see why not. Just make sure to completely disconnect the drives for OS A while installing OS B.

What motherboard?

BTW: PCI RAID - Bad idea. I mean, it's really not worth the hassle for the probably non-existent performance benefit. PCI SATA card is, IMO, only for those who have not enough SATA ports on the boards.

Depending on your mobo, you should be able to do multi-RAID with the SATA ports on the board. If not, get a decent PCI-E (at least x4 lane bandwidth) card but be prepared to pay fortune.
