Multi Purpose Cd player

they look nice but a friend just told me he has heard of compatibility/playback issues with some.

can anyone tell me if this product, or ones like it, are any good?

will be used for CD/divx/mp3 playback mainly

I have the 6100 version and it is brilliant. I have had perhaps 2 films that didnt work due to odd codec used to encode. The only problem I found was some media it didnt like, but quality dvd-r's like ritec work very well.
