Multi Processors and Black Ice defender

Does Black Ice defender support more than 1 processor ? I was going to install ZoneAlarm Por, but realised it doesn't support multiprocessors.

Erm, are you sure ZoneAlarm won't work with dual processors ? I mean, that would be the first time I heard a piece of software wouldn't work if you have more then one CPU in your system. Can you give me an URL where you read that information ?

I think you've misinterpreted the information : ZoneAlarm will probably not take advantage of the second CPU, but this doesn't mean you can't run it. It'll run the same as on a uni-processor system.

Runboy, thanks for the URL.

4. Can I run ZoneAlarm on a multiprocessor (SMP) version of Windows NT?
You can run ZoneAlarm on an SMP computer only if the computer is running in single-processor mode.

This is very interesting. I'm not a programmer myself, so could somebody shed some more light on this ? I can't think of any reasons as why some programs wouldn't be able to run on dual processor machines. All programs are made out of several threads right ? On a dual-CPU machine, these threads can be distributed among the different CPU's, but this doesn't have to be the case per se. In Win2K, you can define wich program runs on wich CPU. I'm puzzled now. 😕
