using win nt 's boot.ini file i can ge t my sys to load to the primary hd's c: (win98) e: (win2k). now on the second channel of that controller their is another partitioned hard drive, with a bootable copy of win 98se on its first drive, can i point winnt's loader to d:/ for it to boot to that drive by letter? or is that too easy, also whenevre i shut down win2k it makes a "new" clicking noise, new to the drive, i've heard it on dead drives before though should i worry?

Please connect ALL drives before trying to install OSes. NT loader will NOT work as you expect it when you try to add bootable drives later. It simply won't happen. EVERY OS must see the same C: drive.
