I wanted to use 2 monitors for my computer, however I dont know anything about Multi Monitor Support. I was wondering if you have to get a special video card for this, and if it costs a lot more. I currently have a Geforce 2 GTS. If I wanted a comparable card that supported multi monitor how much would it cost? Thanks.

Just get an old pci video card for cheap, or you can always get a high end Radeon(high end Nvidia cards dont have twinview support....)

Radeon VE which is slower for 3d, but really cheap will work.
Radeon 7500 which is much faster and not too expensive will work
Radeon 8500 which is even faster also has dual monitors.

nvidia as of now only has the GF2 MX with dual monitors

Matrox still has the best dual monitor implementation available, though they wouldnt be able to match the gaming performance of your GTS.
Presently nVidia only has multi-monitor support in their MX series, and it's the weakest implementation though they are improving it.
ATi has a fairly robust multi-monitor solution and available at variious price/performance levels including models which can match and exceed the performance of your GTS.

If you don't with to replace your GTS you could simply purchase a PCI graohics card and use it in combination with your GTS for basic multi-monitor fuctionality.

A lot depends on what OS you have. Win98 is very friendly with multi-monitor, but win2k is kinda picky. I have a dual boot Win98/Win2k and when I had a RadeonLE/agp and a ragePro/Pci, I had to set PCI to initial first in the bios for win2k to display properly. The best results seem to be rage128/pci and nvidia/pci, for the second card. With these and Win2k you do not have to set the bios to initial pci first. Try this site for more info, they also have a searchable data base for card combos. Multi-Mon I hope this helps...

I just recieved an email from computer geeks, they have some excellent deals on Matrox PCI cards ($20.) that will work with your GF2.
Nice cheap way and works with win98/win2k.........Geeks
