I'm looking at monitors and I've been thinking, should I get a widescreen or a 4:3?

WS : Sexy, good for DVDs, a lot of games in WS

4:3 : Much more support for it, more real estate

Then it hit me . . . how 'bout both?!

Is it possible to have a widescreen monitor with a 4:3 right next to it? The only thing I want to make sure is that they're level or almost there (I.E., the top and bottom of each screen should be around the same heights)

Of course you can, as long as your graphics card can handle them. You should run them at resolutions that give the same dots-per-inch value, else things will look wrong one either one of the two. As far as the physical size goes, well, that's your shopping decision, ain't it?

so when you say that, do you mean, like a ws running 1920x1200 and a 4:3 running 1600x1200? so that its 1200 up and down the whole way across?
