multi monitor setup + gaming

hello all, I'm looking to set up a 3 or 4 monitor system that I'll mostly be programming on. but when the work day is over I'd like to game on it too (wow, ddo, bf2 etc). what do you recommend to have it both ways? I'm willing to sli a couple of cards together if necessary, and I don't espeically care if I can only use one monitor for gaming (while maybe surfing the web or *sigh* working on the others).

so what's the state of multi headed gaming?

I'm going to be doing this in the near future. I'll probably get two of the new cheaper GF8s to run 3/4 monitors. This way I get multi monitor, SLI in games and DX10.

Supreme Commander is the only game I've seen that uses multi-monitors well.

You can't use sli across more than 1 monitor
