I have a Radeon 9800, with one analog, and one dvi output. I was wondering if i could hook up one monitor to the analog and another to the digi and have one for gaming and the other to display my desktop(email, browsing etc) using HYDRAVISION?

Yes you can!!
I have a 9700Pro with a DVI and a VGA output. My main screen is a 2001FP and the secondary is my old 17" CRT.

yeah, except in a fullscreen game you can't access the secondary screen without exiting the game. or at least that's the case with nvidia's nview.

The HL2 engine is really cool in the fact that it works in fullscreen too, you just hit esc along with the menu you get a normal windows mouse pointer which you can freely move to other displays. Howver, all the other games I play require alt-tabing to get to the secondary display.

I play BF1942, MOHAA in full screen while displaying winamp and stuff on the other BUT you can not simply drag the cursor to the other monitor and control those apps, You have to Alt+Tab.

slightly off topic but..is there ne way i can open two windows (in this case 2 copies of 'bubble' (a funky nvida tech demo from a few yrs back :) )) and keep focus in both of them?

i have ultramon and two screens running off my 9800 pro, and it would be rather kewl 2 get 'bubble' workin twice (not just stretched...i can do that with ultramon)

In some games you can though. Like Civilization 3. I can have it running on one monitor and move over to Windows and do stuff while I'm waiting for people to take their turns. It seems to depend, but I'm not sure what on.

I'm not sure why you felt the need to bump a two-month-old thread to mention this... but it depends on how the application treats the mouse input. A "normal" fullscreen application will grab the mouse cursor and process all the mouse input itself through DirectInput; this means you cannot drag the mouse outside of the window. And if you *do* manage to get the mouse outside the window and click on something, it will minimize the fullscreen application, since it knows it has lost focus and is no longer "fullscreen".

Some games are basically written to run as if they were a windowed application even though they take up the full screen. These will generally 'play nice' with other applications, since they don't get confused when you take mouse focus away from them (because they're not "really" fullscreen).

I just read threads and reply if I have any input.
