Multi media/memory errors etc

Hello: I am having problems which I have been unable to solve. First, here is my system:

AMD64 3500
WinXP Pro service pack 2
1 gig of RAM
ASUS K8V-E Deluxe
MSI GeForce 6600GT PCI Express graphics card
Two SATA drives
TWO IDE drives on Maxtor ATA100 card

The machine runs prefectly on most applications but with this exception: PowerDVD and BeyondTV crash with an error that says something like "memory address, could not write" or sometimes it says "memory address , coulnd not read". MusicMatch10 gives the error when launched "logging and tracing manager has encountered a problem and meeds to close".

Even when trying to uninstall BeyondTV it gives the error message and fails to uninstall.

I have swapped memory with a different brand (crucial) and have all drivers, firmware etc updated to the most recent.

Other multi-media apps such as Windvd work perfectly.

I use the machine to watch tv, movies etc and really wanted a stable computer but this problem sucks.

I am hoping someone here has had this problem and solved it.

Help!

Thanks

I had the same problem - caused by MusicMatch 10. Here's what I did:
Uninstall MusicMatch
Reboot
Open a command line
Run the command "netsh winsock reset" to set Winsock2 back to its original state.
Reboot
In my case that fixed it.

Have you done any o/c'ing? This could be a memory problem, try running memtest for a couple hours and see if it gives you any errors. Still run memtest even if you aren't o/c'ing and see if it gives errors. That's a start, tell me what happens and we can go from there.
