Multi-Homed NT4TSE connectivity problems

My friend recently purchased a new Dell PowerEdge 6400 (Dual-NIC)... I have added it to network after having installed NT4TSE/MetaFrame1.8 onto it; with both nics plugged in i get no connectivity whatsoever; when i disconnect one of the nics i get connectivity with the other nic, but still can't log into the domain (doesn't matter which nic i enable/disable; just one has to be disabled) and when i completely uninstall the drivers for the second nic (again .. doesn't matter which of the two i disable) all works beautifully -- do any of you know of a way to get both nics up and running (for some fault tolerance)?
