Quit crying, and show me the rule. It's not an attempt to break any rule, I don't see the rule.

Now Homerboy, can you produce the rule or any basis for your whining?

Neither of you really has a good argument.

Homerboy, what are you trying to accomplish. Yeah it should have been in software.

Dnuggett, you dont have to be such a hardass all the time. Homerboy was merely trying to help and you exploded. Albeit he went overboard. (On a lighter note  for the kind act of hosting demos and what not!!)

Look all you had to do to solve this problem was to get the mods to move the thread to software or delete the OT and keep the software thread. You dont have to alert the entire population of the forums to this.

I edited my "explosion" before this thread was even created. All I'm saying is where is the rule he is trying to reference?

And I completely agree about alerting the entire population that is ridiculous. People need to quit crying and learn they don't have too look at soemthing if they don't like it. We all should have learned that ohhh in elementary school if not sooner.

Now again, Homerboy where is this rule? Looks to me like you are the one "trolling" according to the posters in the OT thread.

There are no rules as such that you are looking for; just common sense. Which always seems to be in limited supply here.:(

Where was the common sense failing in this sitaution? Are you going to tell me that posting it in OT as well won't get it in front of more people? That's the point, put it where people are the most likely to use it. Err... wait when you are trying to use up bandwidth that sounds like common sense.

Sorry just got back to reading all this tripe...
You're right there are no "rules" against this, however, as Eagle Keepr pointed out, common sense may have been a better suggestion.

So by your point nugget, if I want my post to be seen by as many people as possible, I should just toss it up in whatever forums? Well hell then, I'll happily post all my threads then in every forum and see how well that works out.

There is a SPECIFC reason why there are distinctly seperate forums. If you can't figure that out then, you must fall into the common sense category the EK speaks of.

The reason why I posted this in Forum Issues, wasn't to "whine" it was to get one of the threads closed and/or moved.

Glad we got the rules part cleared up. That being said if the mods have a problem they can lock the OT one. No sh!t there are different forums for different topics. This one fits both, it is OT and Software at the same time.

As far as your blantant disregard for the rules BS you tried to pull, common sense should have told you to know what the hell you are talking about before you go spouting off rules that don't exist, and screaming for vacations. Now STFU and go on your merry way.

I wasn't trying to "pull" anything. It was however a blantant disregard for common sense I'd say wouldn't you? It's commonly known NOT to post the same thread in mutliple forums. It's been tocuhed on several times before and I think even mentioned in the infamous "Change of Attitude" (or wahtever) thread from the Moderators.

You really need to get that chip off your shoulder son.

Son? Lol, ok. Get off your high horse and stop suggesting vacations for rules that don't exist and I'll try to like asshats a little more. Fair deal?

Actually on second thought, I'll take the OT post down. I don't really have time to go back and forth on this with you, and it's really not worth it to try and use up some bandwidth. We'll just leave it in software, that way everyone is happy. Now grab your bottle and blanket and get on with life, son. ;)

And people wonder why I think we should have a single official "forum rules" stickied thread...

In general, Cross-post is not allowed by policy at many boards as it is an annoyance when answering questions because there are multiple places to track answers and questions. Quite annoying. The terms of service in the FAQ do not forbid it, therefore it is not against the written rules. There are unwritten rules and the moderators will enforce those. The correct response would have been to PM a moderator and let them know. If they think it is out of bounds, they will lock it.

But, it is also poor form to carp on someone who is trying to be generous to fellow forum members. This should have been handled in PMs.
