It's like a retro meets cyberpunk FPS. The graphics are simple but look great for the style they were going for. And it runs maxed out on my 12500k with HD7000 or whatever Intel's latest IGPU is. So the eye candy is the retro look, which I think has a nice anime cartoon feel to it. and also how incredibly fast everything moves, it's a damn twitchy game, so I'm terrible at it. Depending on the difficulty you select, you get time before you die. I play normal mode and you start with 10 seconds before you die and you earn 2 seconds for each robot you kill. I've played for an hour and honestly I'm still mostly just spamming the dash/kick button and shooting a lot hoping for the best. This game could absolutely be based off a cheesy 80s sci-fi movie. The anime art style, the synth music, the funny but terrible dialog. You're thrusted into a game show, like Running Man and have to save a big breastest anime social media princess. There's more to the story, but the game doesn't seem touch on it when you start. Something about a bored billionaire who has a deathgame set up for his amusement. Like the Running Man I suppose. And if you don't continually kill robots, the fans get bored and you will die.
I suck at these uber fast FPS games, so I die a lot. And at least to me the speed of the game makes the path difficult to find and follow, since you only have seconds before you die you can't stand around looking for where to go. Also, there are lots of robots and drones shooting at you. So I'll be replying most levels until I know the pattern. You also have to find soda machines to regain energy while your death counter is constantly ticking down. You can earn extra time by certain environmental kills. But I haven't figured out what does what as I don't really have enough time to fully process how I'm killing.
There is a mode with no timer but says this isn't how the game is meant to be played. If I can't beat it on normal I guess I can't beat it. On the hardest level you get 1 life to beat the entire game. After beating the 1st level I bought a shotgun, which I proceeded to lose when I died 12 seconds into the 2nd level. And the gun was gone.
I like this game a lot, and if I was actually good at non stop run and gun games I'm sure I'd love it. While I do find it frustrating, at least the levels are so short when I die I'm literally just restarting 10-20 seconds ago. I'm a pretty mellow dude, but I could see this game making a lot of people rage quit.
