I have an up to date nexus 4 with kitkat 4.4.2. It is registered to my own google account with my personal gmail address. The gmail app automatically signs into this account and shows my personal email.
My work has just migrated to using googleapps and using gmail for email.
I can see no way of adding two gmail accounts to the standard gmail app. So at present I am using my works gmail IMAP and the default android email client to check my work emails. This is a functional solution but lacks any push support to send email to my phone when they arrive. I also prefer the gmail app for a couple of features that are missing from the email app.
I know this is an issue that has been raised and has bug reports with google already, but I was wondering if anybody had any other different solutions.
I had one idea after I used to use cyanogenmod on a tablet and I know that it had two calendar apps, two contacts etc, the cyanogen build and the gapps build. I can't remember if it had similar for the gmail app, but it might be possible to install two different builds of the gmail app to the same phone. Again not ideal but might get round the push issue.
All (useful) thoughts welcome
