This question was relevant maybe 10 years ago. Today, you'd have to be a fool to rank Tyson above Ali. Tyson feasted on sub par opponents for the bulk of his career. Holyfield was his first true test and he failed that miserably. How many epic bouts against quality opponents did Ali win? How many did Tyson win?

He spent a good chunk of time in prison and was past his prime when he faced Holyfield. He was in his prime and lost to Buster Douglas but didn't train for the fight. I think Ali would win strategically, just staying away and try to win on the scorecard, but if one of those devastating punches connected, bye bye Ali.
