No matter what, every time I eat pancakes or muffins, I get slightly nauseous. Why would this happen? Is there some unique ingredient to these two foods?

Edit: Also, they make me unable to spell

..sugar/starch overload?? it's about as close as you can get to a glucose overload short of eating spoon fulls of sugar.

If you ralphed on bread your body associates any thoughts of it with illness. For instance I can no longer stomach those imitation crab meat sticks.

But I thought that just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down,
the medicine go down,
the medicine go down....
just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down,
In a most delightful way!

I'm lactose intolerant but I don't think muffins have more milk than other pastries.

I can drink a whole liter of Italian soda in a day and feel fine.

There must be some logical explanation

A lot of pancakes and muffins ("quick breads") are made with buttermilk - there might be some specific bacteria in it that bothers you.

This from everyl kind of pancakes/muffins? I mean theres so many, blueberry, corn, wheat, buckwheat, cinnamin apple... But is there a specific brand you go to or even homemade or McDonald/Starbucks? Try to narrow it down

Maybe the oil? Nobody mentioned this, but both products contain significant amounts of oil, usually vegetable oils. Some of those also have trace amounts of antioxidants in them, to which a few people are allergic. What about other fried foods? Would stir-fried veggies, or French Toast, made by the same person / kitchen that makes the pancakes, give you trouble?

The thought of vegetable oil in my pancakes make me naseous.

Nothing but flour, butter, egg's, buttermilk, baking powder, salt, sugar and baking soda in mine.
