Just for kicks, try to spot people in the crowd that are sleeping/bored during the performances... I noticed Mary J. Blige(?) looked horrendously bored when Fallon was doing his crap... and yes, I thought it was crap.
 
Yo...Aguilera was looking like she's trying to be from "around tha way", y'know? Still, I'd hit that.
Michelle Branch and Avril Lavigne are musicians I dunno if I like/tolerate. Still, I'd hit that.
Britney was actually TOUCHING Michael Jackson. Still, I'd hit that.

Axl Rose sucked HORRIBLY. Still, I'd...um, never mind 🙂
 
Arrgh forgot about it, guess I'll catch one of the thousands replys, regarding the Lisa Lopez tribute thing its probably cuz she died...
 
hahaha only on ATOT do you get geeks complaining about the framerate of an awards show 😉 anyways, the MJ thing seemed kinda odd... I didn't really get that he won the millenium award or whatever. Britney still looked hot, and so did Christina Aguilera. The P Diddy thing was neat except for the lip syncing... the Justin Timberlake thing was lame, looked like he was a wannabe MJ. And what was the deal with Triumph and Eminem? With Eminem's entourage? I didn't get it- Triumph was talking to Moby, then Triumph wanted to go talk to Eminem and he told him to go away? And was Moby really booing Eminem? It was nice to see that Linkin Park won something... and I agree with you guys, Usher doesn't get enough credit for his dancing. Also, that little whiteboy in the P Diddy thing? That guy was tight. And the closing band- I had no idea wtf they were until I read this thread- Guns & Roses? ... they don't really appeal to me 😛 and yes, Jimmy Fallon blows chunks.
 
hey bumango i hate to break it to you, but all my buddies and even my parents were like wtf is going on. They didn't understand it was 24fps format like me, but they didn't like it at all.

Anyways, the VMAS sucked horribly this year. Fallan just isn't good for award shows, unless he has a partner. We need Chris Rock back, he's the only one that could keep the crowd on their feet the whole show.

I was amazed at how crappy live performances are now. Everyone sucked, there was not one good live performance.

Avril Lavigne, the girl with the wifebeater, sounded like some opera singer or even shakira with some weird ass deep voice, TERRIBLE.
Puff Daddy- By far the worst of the night, the worst lipsynching i've ever seen in my life. That man should be shot.
Justin timber- he can actually sing live but tonite he was lippin the whole thing, whatever i don't care his song suxed anyways
Shakira- Decent, keep shaking that ass 🙂
Eminem- Good, solid performance as always (you can say whatever you want to say about him, but he delivers on live performances, sounds exactly the same as he does on his records)
Hives- Decent
Vines- My bro was really hypin up this band, but man they sucked bigtime. That lead singer wasn't even trying to sing, he was just screamin in the mike (that was horrible, terrible, utter crap).
GnR- ughh ok i guess, but still pretty crappy

So all in all this was a pretty crummy award show, not even good enough to workout to (i only switched to MTV for the performances).
 
h0nestly though, compared to the wayans, all in all, fallon didn't do too terrible. I, also, captured the performance, but only from the beginning of the pink performance on... so its missing the first like 20 mins

You're pretty much right on although I didn't see some of the acts. That one hit Complicated girl can't sing to save her life. Puff Daddy...joke. Shakira, I switched channels. Eminem was ok. GnR, Rose lost his voice. Timberlake was ok tho the song won't get on anyone's playlist.

Fallon was annoying as hell. He has some talent, but it's certainly not as a awards show host.

hehe what I meant was that people actually pointing out that it was because of the framerate, not just noticing that something was different. I noticed it too, but I didn't know that it was because of the framerate. I guess I'm not a true geek 😉

Moby Sucks...Go Eminem (3 moonmen)

Guns 'N Roses - (I have EVERY album they made and have seen them 3 times) Axel needs to hit the gym if he wants to prance around stage and still sound decent, because his performance SUCKED!!!!!!!!!

Go Michelle Branch 😉 ("I think I am more drunk than Pink")
 
Man that was such a bad show. MTV has gotten so corporate and it shows. I realize it was tageted at a younger audience, but even young twenty-somethings must know pure $hit when they see it, no?
 
all you guys hyping the rap/r&b/pop acts of last night, saying that they were good, are making me sick. the hives and vines did awesome. axl was cool, he did lose his voice though, classic. oh and he does hit the gym, i saw a pic of him shirtless a couple monthes ago, he is freakin huge actuall, not skinny and soft like the real GnR days.
 
Pink's a f'n poseur. Nice fake tattoos. The world would be a cooler place if someone just blew up Radio City last night.

I didn't think P.Diddy's performance was that bad, he incorporated a lot of things. Although he may not be the best rapper, his performance was entertaining and had everyone watching which is what the show is about. Unlike Nas' performance, when he just got out there and said like 6 words from his song. Really pissed me off. See my other thread for my rant about that.
