MTV to debut program for college students on Rutgers-TV (Rutgers University)

Video cameras and crews infiltrated various locations on the College Avenue campus yesterday as part of a promotion for an MTV pilot program set to debut next week on RU-TV. The experimental channel entitled MTV University is a pet project of Viacom Entertainment ? the parent company of MTV ? charged with the goal of eventually creating a channel to cater exclusively to the college student population. Morgan Hertzan, director of MTV U., said the programming poses a mature content engineered for the segment of the population ranging from 18- to 22-years-old. "Our programs, unlike MTV, are not filled with *NSYNC, Backstreet Boys and other 'teeny bop' material geared towards kids going through puberty," Hertzan said. LINK
