MTU 2048 bytes size?

I'm trying to turn up an ethernet MPLS circuit, and Verizon claims they keep seeing input & CRC errors on the interface.

They set the MTU to 2048 bytes on both PE & CE interfaces.

Has anyone successfully turned up circuits w/ 2048 MTU before?

thanks.
We're having Sungard's remote hands doing some testing to isolate fault.
There's a media converter between PE & CE, so I'm hoping that's not the source of the errors.

That's most likely the cause. I hate those things with a passion. Boot both ends. Make sure your clocking is set correctly on them.
