So I bought a Sony HDR-CX-160. I was using it most of last night. The quality is quite good. I notice the resulting media is in MTS format. Which I think may be a bummer. Windows Media Player plays the files so does VLC. Theses are my questions.

1. Is the MTS format bad for editing?
2. What video editing tools currently support MTS format.
3. When you convert MTS for editing, would you have loss?
