I am currently talking to Smokeball on arranging the Teams for this MTR, and with 70 people it is going to take a long time to set up the teams. And also with the bandwidth problems Berkeley have been having the 7 day averages are starting to change and not show the proper production :(

I will keep you updated (probably in another thread) on how it is going :)

well if we go for my style we have about 35 ppl so we could have about 12 teams of 3, with average productions worked out on a monthly basis. With this many teams we could also make it kinda like a football league with premotions/demotions to a lower league or 2 happening every month, if you need some more ideas of how this could be implimented i think i have some more up my sleave.
If this was the case we could make it an on-going thing with no timelimits, and alow more teams to be formed if more people wanted to join the race, they would have to start from the bottum though and work their way up ;)

If we go for the classic style then i say about 3 months

Count me in. I think you should 4 heats running a month long each and if needed the final run for the much coveted racing title winner.

I'm in as well!

Being new to the MTR scene, I don't really have a preference. I will defer to the judgement of the other racers.

Another way you could do it is kind of like VolleyBall scoring.

So if your team had the high for the day you would get side out.
The next day if you won you would get a point. However, if another
team won for the day they would get side out.

So points would be from winning streaks longer then 1 in a row. ;)

eg 3 winning days in a row would give you 2 points.

Well, it is just a suggestion.

Note this will be a lot like the difference between the popular vote and the electoral college.
You could have more WU's crunched and still lose the race.

Ps. 30-45days at most for a race. ;)

I'll let you guys vote, but the second one sounds more exciting as long as we can hold secret team meetings to strategize! lol

Thanks for all the hard work putting this together ConfusedBW!

I think 30 days would be the most exciting time limit but up to 45 is good for me also.

i say 1 month if you think you can work fast enough to get it running by the 1st, then it would be a 28 day race, we could have a race like every other month.

In the tradition of the Indy 500, I say we have a 33 day race for the 33 cars that run the race. :)

I know it's not one of the options, but the volleyball scoring idea sounds like fun. :) First team to 21 or 25 wins.
