I'm thinking of buying a bike. And since I don't have the funds to purchase a Cannondale, Specialized, or the like, the Fetish Discipline looks mighty promising. Anyone purchase one of these before? The bike will be used for mostly commuting and possibly the occasional trail and or dirt bike riding, but no jumps. Or maybe someone can point me towards a frame >$150 shipped.

Text Of course the one in their eBay store is much cheaper and it's the 2007 model.

That's correct, $150 or less. I was reading on a mountain bike forum regarding the Fetish line and people seem to be pretty happy with them. Just wondering if people on here have purchased one or not.

Isn't Schwinn a Walmart brand now? Not knocking it, just asking a question.

well... he linked to a frame that was $499.

True, but their eBay store has the 2007 model for considerably less than that. About $145 shipped.

By the way, if you want a cheap frame, don't buy a custom fabricated frame like Fetish. Also, if you want a cheap bike, don't buy the parts and put one together. That gets expensive. Just look up older Trek, Specialized, and Cannondale MTBs.

Can I ask why about the custom frame? Also, I do want a cheap bike but I'm the type of guy that would rather build something rather than having it put together from the factory. I'm just one of those guys that takes pride in putting stuff together.

Don't get me wrong, I have three bikes I put together. When you qualify a post with, "I don't have the funds to purchase ...", I try to minimize your costs.

Cannondale BBU, Full XTR, XTR Wheelset, Carbon Everything.
Specialized Roubiax Elite, Full Dura-Ace, Mavic Kysrium Wheelset, Carbon Everything.
Moots Cyclocross YBB, Full Dura-Ace, Moots Titanium Everything.

I know quite a bit about bikes. If you are looking, let me know exactly what size, price range, level components, etc.

If you just want a cheap decent frame look at places like pricepoint.com and nashbar.com. Pricepont has a cheap hardtail frame for $70.
