How tall is Mt. McKinley?

Mt. McKinley is definately Alaska's greatest boast. Alaskans refer to it as 'Denali' -- the Athabascan word meaning 'The Great One' -- it stands a glorious 20,320 feet high and is part of the Alaska Range.

Mt. McKinley is the highest mountain in the United States. Most consider it to be the second highest on earth. However, if you consider the actual "rise" of the mountain, from its base to its peak, actually a much higher mountain than Everest, even though Everest reaches higher into the sky. This is because Everest sits atop the Tibetan Plateau which is already 17,000 feet above sea level. The mountain, itself, is an additional 12,000 -- putting its peak at around 29,000 feet (8,900 meters) above sea level. Denali, on the other hand, sits atop a plateau that is only 2,000 feet high and the mountain itself is 18,000 feet high, for a peak that is just over 20,000 feet above sea level.

This is going to start a shit storm of native American's wanting to name every mountain after what they called it before our white asses showed up.
Now we'll have to call the mountain I live near "Mount Blue Buffalo Balls". Or in the Native Navajo tongue Shuz Yaz.

Do they, you know that for fact?

That's all I've ever called it since I first heard of the highest point in North America in grade school iabout 1956. Of course I came home and told my parents about my new found information and they said I should call it by its real name; Denali.

This would be the worst thing that ever happened to anybody ever.

So have I, was born and raised there. Went there on a few school field trips. Obviously it was not just Denali to everyone.

When we visited Alaska every single reference to it we heard was either "Denali" or "The Mountain".

In other news Trump vows to revert the naming once elected.

Fear not Obama haters!

When Trump becomes president, he will name it back to Mt. McKinley. Stupid Alaskans.

"President Obama wants to change the name of Mt. McKinley to Denali after more than 100 years. Great insult to Ohio. I will change back!" read the tweet, issued from the account of the real estate mogul.

lulz I called it.

Because it in an agenda driven political ploy.

Yep. Those filthy liberals went back in time and got the natives to start calling it Denali so Obama could rename it today in our time.

What makes me laugh so much about this is I know damn well nobody on the conservative side honestly gives a shit about Mt McKinley and the vast majority of them probably never even heard of it or knew where it was until it was renamed. Fake outrage at it's finest. LMAO

What an idiot. Let Alaska name their own damn mountain. Trump and Ohio should STFU.

That mountain name will be the BEST. It will be so good it's unbelievable, the most amazing name name ever and you're going to love it. I'm really good at this.

/Trump
