I am surprised this engine doesn't get any press. It is the only 3D game engine (1st Person or 3rd Person) that is truly multi-threaded. Lost Planet is an example of the engine's potential and potency. Even Crysis doesn't really appear to be multi-threaded, or at the very least, doesn't do a very good job at it. In many ways, the Xbox 360 and PS3 are blessings to PC gaming as engines designed for those systems are designed with multi-core in mind. I was curious on everyone's thoughts on the engine. I think it is brilliant work on their part. I also think the Chrome Engine is stellar as well, but that also doesn't get very good press.

If you have a Quad Core, fire up the demo and turn the graphics options to the lowest settings and benchmark it. You will notice just how efficient the engine is with several cores.

From the Wiki:

Games using the MT Framework are originally developed on the PC and then ported to the other 2 platforms

Is this true? I had always thought Lost Planet was made for consoles first, then ported to PC, and rather crappily ported from my expereince with the demo.

In the other article it talks about how it's meant for consoles, but they use PCs for prototyping and designing..

Apparently PC support was developed mainly for development efficiency and prototyping, not really for actual product release.
