Yeah, the whole assembly of famous people have either died or are on their deathbed in the past few days in Russia:

1. EBN (aka Yeltsin)
2. Rostropovich
3. Lavrov (a very prominent theater actor)
4. The head of Russian Orthodox Church (currently undergoing heart surgery in Switzerland)
