$678-$814? Are they insane?
Have they thought about who exactly is going to pay twice the price to watch movies on a tiny screen?

The Creative player weighs in at 330 grams (11.5 ounces) -- roughly three times as thick as an iPod and roughly twice as long to accommodate its television-quality color screen. It has a USB port and comes with audio and video outputs cable to play media on a television or stereo hi-fi.

The Creative players will be sold with 20 gigabytes or 40 gigabytes of storage capacity, the latter would provide 175 hours of video playback or 10,000 songs, Microsoft said.

The devices play MP3 files as well as audio and video content recorded in Microsoft's digital format. The devices run on the Windows CE operating system.

Hell.. if this is true.. i'll buy it.

HAHA you guys are saying EXACTLY what I first said

WAY too $$. Thats a laptop pricetag that can do everythign and MUCH much more.
and the size? Lordy...

iPods sell well becuase of 1 thing.... DESIGN. They do nothing different than many players before (and after them). These will NEVER fly.

At a price range stated in the article of $724-$814.70 that is a LOT more expensive than iPod territory.

Moreover, the iPods have been getting smaller, lighter, and coming in different colors. And at a $250 entry point, you can buy nearly 3 colorful iPods for the price of the Microsoft player.

By contrast, this Microsoft player is an expensive behemoth. Only men would buy these, too big for a woman's hand or purse.

£399 - £449 isn't actually that bad.

A 20GB IPod is £300. It's the price of 1 1/2 IPod's or thereabouts.
UK taxes > US taxes.
