  1. Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Rings (2001)
  2. Toy Story 2 (1999)
  3. The Matrix (1999)
  4. Apocalypse Now (1979)
  5. Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)
  6. Gladiator (2000)
  7. Jurassic Park (1993)
  8. Saving Private Ryan (1999)
  9. Heat (1995)
  10. Fight Club (1999)
Link for more details

All in all, I think it's a pretty good list. Not perfect, obviously, as it's entirely subjective.

personally, i wouldve put 'saving private ryan' higher up there on the list. heat is up there, not bad for a 4 year old dvd. its a great movie, i wish mann would re-release with the extra scenes (17 extra minutes of footage) and a dts track.

"Lord of the Rings" <- sucked, boring as hell (fanboys, flame away)
"Apocalypse Now" <- would have been good had it not been 3 and a half hours long with no closure
"Fight Club" <- good, but not top 10 material

It's not based on quality of the film but the experience of watching it on a home theater system.

And Apocalypse Now isn't 3 and a half hours, the Redux is. The original is about 2 and a half hours and it has plenty of closure if you can actually grasp what's going on.

U-571!!!!!

I swear that felt so realistic that I whispered to my friend to not talk because I was afraid the germans would hear us.

Spiderman sucks balls.
Forrest Gump isn't really that great, well it is and it isn't. Def. not top 10 material.

Yeah that scene is the best to test out one's surround sound.

Toy Story 2, seems odd to be in top 10

Difficult when only 2/3rds of it have been released though.

I mean the first episode is not strong enough on its own.

I didn't like U-571. Effects were good and all but the story just didn't stand up well.

Go rent Das Boot. Or better yet buy it. That is a great movie!

I also like Apollo 13. Great movie and the scene where that big Saturn rocket fires up and leaves the launch pad just gives me goose bumps every time I watch it.
