....and makes racist comment herself.

MSNBC’s Norah O’Donnell on Friday went too far for even her colleagues at the liberal cable channel, receiving mockery for her assertion that Newt Gingrich made racially charged remarks about Barack Obama. At the Southern Republican Leadership Conference, Thursday, the former House Speaker commented that “shooting three-point shots may be clever, but it doesn’t put anybody to work.”

Speaking of the President’s basketball skills, Gingrich continued: "What we need is a President, not an athlete. We need somebody who actually focuses on getting people back to work.” After the clip was played, Morning Joe guest host O’Donnell lobbed her accusation at Gingrich:

But I’m not sure what he means by this particular soundbite and I think it’s open to some criticism because it suggests that the President is an athlete and some people may suggest, you know, because all black people are good athletes. I mean that’s what it sort of sounds like to me.

I never knew all black people were all black people were athletes....

Way to play the race card Ms. O’Donnell...way to go!

Maybe next time you won't claim racism and make a racist comment yourself.

(Simply another attempt to smear the GOP as racists when it is in fact the "progressive" who is racist)

I agree with you. It is impossible, since they eat so much fried chicken. The nutritional value, hydration, and the anti-oxidants in watermelons simply can't compensate for all of the bad cholesterol.

Go Celtics!!!! ...ohwai

i will grant that Fox has a right of center viewpoint, however MSNBC is so radically left of center its unreal. Also, Fox isn't so damn mean. The MSNBC hosts are mean, condescending, and painful to watch, they think they are so damn smart.

Yeah I saw the clip of that. Even her liberal circle jerk friends called her out on it after she said it.

Newt Gingrich is like the weather, wait a few days and he will be off on a new twit tangent.

As for MSNBC, they look totally mainstream compared to the totally biased Fox news.

LOL, evidencing your lack of credibility (not that you ever had a shred of it anyway) for all to see again. Your own words insult your intelligence more than I ever could.

Nora O'Donnell was off base with her comment.

But those of you who claim Fox News is more pure then MSNBC, remember Glenn Beck saying "Obama has a deep seated hatred towards white people".

Not really, they are just as bad as Fox News. The saving grace is according to the polls they aren't pied pipers like Fox is.

Fox people are rational although biased. Some MSNBC reporters are batshit crazy and would do it for free with spittle running down their faces. I'll cite your state's last upset election as an example.

So the question is which is worse, whores who do it for money, or those who do it because they're insane.

Personally, I avoid both, but some (not all I'm sure) at MSNBC really have a belly full of hate.

An example of what, poor campaigning on Coakleys part? BTW MA actually is better off with Coakley as AG, she is actually doing a great job in that position for her constituents where as Brown is just an ineffective probable one term Senator

The only example of MSNBC batshit crazyness that I'm aware of do to me neverwatching it is the links I see to that douchbag Olbermen, though at times his rants are humorous and now the reporter talked about in the OP. On the flip side Faux has Hannity, their morning Zoo and that nutbag Glen Beck. Sorry rational not found.

As for that mirror mirror on the wall, who is most biased of all question, I tend to get my news from multiple sources. And hence spend little time obsessing about biased news.

As for Gingrich, he started the whole thing by calling Obama a racist. At the end of the day, I suppose anyone can make a straw man case to call anyone a racist, all you need is enough straw, bullshit, and blarney. And at that business, few are better at than Newt Gingrich. But I never take Gingrich seriously, he will be off on a whole new tangent in a few days, using a whole different set of reasoning that is likely to be contradictory to what he said a few days ago.

As for the Obama despising minority convinced he is the worst thing since sex and sliced bread, I should apologize for disrupting your love fest and group hugs. Just because a small minority can find some like thinking fellows, does not make your tea bagger tactics remotely resembling close to a majority.

Except that there is actual evidence for the latter comment.
a) Obama was a memeber of Reverend Wright's church for 20+ years, whom spewed hatred of America and white society.
b) Obama passed a tax on tanning salons which only white people use.

Buahahahaha, excuse me, it was the legislative branch who wrote it and passed it, Obama just signed it into law.

Recently, in other religious threads, I was told that membership in a church doesn't necessarily mean you support or agree with everything the pastor/leader says.

b) Obama passed a tax on tanning salons which only white people use.

This is not legitimate evidence.

One of my best friends is black.Great person, war hero, also a great people manager. He is not an athlete , never was . Has a great sense of humor, the chicks love him,but athlete , no . I have another black friend who cannot walk and chew gum at the same time, another who would be defined as a geek/nerd.So the misconception that all blacks are athletes is a false one . There are some very good black athletes , as are some fine Black musicians, doctors, accountants, ect.

Whether or not Newt's comment was racist (I don't think it was), it is a common stereotype that black people are athletic. Acknowledging that a stereotype exists doesn't mean you agree with it.

And even if MSNBC is left leaning, Fox is so far right they can no longer even see the center, yet grasp the difference between center and left. Hell, right of center to Fox and the people who watch it would be far left from their point of view.

And I find it hard to believe that anyone said Fox News personalities are rational. I KNOW that they aren't rational. I actually find it hard to believe someone even claimed it. I would think that there was no one left who is that misguided to even have a crazy ass belief like that. I find birthers and truthers to be less out there than someone who tries to claim Fox people are rational!
