I think the offending link has been taken down.

The link " There is a reason why your Grandpa says inappropriate things" on the MSNBC main page brings a popup windows asking if my computer has been running slowly and ask me to download a free Malware Alarm program

When I clicked out of this obvious threat, an Explorer window opened up telling me that my computer is infected with malware. I shut down the computer and rebooted. When I restarted the PC, Internet explorer is really slow and I am afraid I might very well have infected this work PC.

A virus scan revealed nothing.

I finished work and visited the link with my own PC at home with the same results except that my computer blocked the malware from installing (Vista).

I contacted the IT department at work and told them about this. They are checking out the PC as we speak.

Unbelievable that this kind of shit would come up on the MSNBC web site.
I just hope I don?t get fired over this.
