Does anyone know how to stop messenger 4.7 loading/login-in in the backround???

Here is a tool if you want to completely remove it.

Does that tool get rid of 4.7 (windowsmessenger) or all MSN messengers(v6.1)?

Run regedit. Navigate here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Delete the Messenger Key.

Not sure about what version.. I always use it as soon as I install Windows XP.

Just used it yesterday on a friend's PC with Windows XP and SP1.. none of us ever update Messenger so I am not sure if it will do the newest versions..
