MSN messenger help! need to stop it

I just installed Norton Internet Security Firewall. Every few seconds it keeps telling me that MSN messenger is preparing to access the internet. Its msmsgs.exe. I shut down msn, but then the program loads up moments later. I kill it again, it comes back. It keeps trying to prepare to access the internet. Is there any way to stop it?

This could be because of your Antivirus scanning of messenger. I noticed that if I enable scanning of msn messenger, the msmsgs.exe is always loaded. I suggest you just disable the messenger support in NAV/ Internet Security and simply set all protection to high for all files
