They had another server down (total thing, even the status page for the service)
I don't remember that having happened for at least 6 months, but it probably has, not much can keep going for that long.

On a seperate note, is www.xbitlabs.com down as well? Seems to have been offline for the past few days 🙁

it's been up for me for a few days. I was one of the people that complained back in the last thread, but it was back up after about 6 hours. maybe cause i'm in england

I didn't say NO server. If the server goes down, you don't lose your current conversations.

We have yet to have a "hacker" "boot" anybody.

That's probably because you have less than 100 people using your chat service. (Assuming that you are still at approximately the same amount of usage that you publicised here a while back.)

Yeah, the fact that tens of millions of people use aol/aim and i've only seen a few days of downtime over the years, and the aim software isnt bad after using aim+, and i have no reason to worry about encryption are all enough reasons enough for me to stay with AIM.

Whos ignorant now.

Did I mention that everyone that i could possibly want to talk to online already has and uses AIM, and switching 100+ people over would be a pain in the ass, and would never happen anyways. I dont think my grandma will be installing bitwise anytime soon.

Im sure that bitwise is a wonderful program, but its just not for me.
 
We are approaching 1200 registered users. The snowball is getting larger as publicity and interest grows. The platform has come a long way since it was introduced almost a year ago.

It's not for everybody, you're right. But we have users we have quit everything else. That's the beauty of competition: you can find a program that exactly suits your needs because there are so many choices out there. And that's a wonderful thing.

What about times, though, when it's not MSN's server goes down, but rather you just temporarily lose the link to it? Isn't that still irritating to get cut off all your conversations?
