MSN Messenger 6 and Direct3D/OpenGL problem

Whenever I'm playing any 3D games.. when somebody logs in or when I receive mail, the screen will flicker like mad (like it's running at 30Hz or what not), stall the game for a while, and then return to normal after a few seconds. Seems like MSN is trying to "steal" focus from the games I'm running. Anyone having the same problem or any ideas about how to solve this?

I could do that .. but it's kinda inconvenient.. and I want those notifications. I'm thinking about driver problems.. but more towards some crappy MS programming the refreshes the entire screen for the animation of the notification box :frown:

hmmm that's weird. on my computer... the notify showed above the game, or not showed at all. It doesnt flicker the screen

I'm guessing it's a driver problem too. When I had my GF3 Ti200, I never had that problem. Then I upgraded to a 9500 pro and whenever MSN comes up while I'm in a game, the screen flickers for a few seconds.

Even worse for a buddy of mine.. he's got a Radeon 7200 and when MSN pops up, gets a 2-3 second wallhack in CS ..

Tools->Options->Personal. Check the box "Show me as busy and block my alerts when I'm running a full-screen program"

If that option isn't there, upgrade.
