Are there any good lightweight substitutes for MSN Live Messenger out there? I feel so dirty using Microsoft's product. I've heard of Pidgin, is that any good? More importantly, is it secure? I don't want my e-mail getting hijacked by the creators of Pidgin ^_^

The only functionality I need is chatting.
