A couple days ago MSN 7.5 simply stopped working on my main PC (as soon as I logged in it would load up my contact list and then freeze with the hourglass, then eventually say 'not responding'). I figured I may as well update to the Live Messenger, but the same problem occurred. After a while I gave up, assuming it was some registry thing that had gotten messed up, and I installed Trillian, which works perfectly with the MSN account.
Today, I reformatted my laptop with the restore CD's and installed Live Messenger. Logged into a different MSN account, and it loaded up my contact list then promptly froze with the hourglass, eventually saying... you get the picture.
What the hell?
Both systems are running XPSP2. Any ideas?
[EDIT] Alright, I finally traced the problem to my crappy D-link router, which I'm about to throw in the garbage.
