MSN instant messenger question.

I'm running Windows XP Home.

The icon for MSN Instant Messenger keeps disappearing from my task bar (down by the clock).

The only way I have found to start it back up is to go to MSN's website and press the link to launch it. I thought this program was on my start menu but it's not. Since I cannot look at the options for an icon on my task bar I can't even see what program it is executing to launch the messenger.

Anyone know why this icon may be disappearing, how I can stop it from disappearing or where I can find the program which launched the messenger so I can put a shortcut to it on my desktop?

XP has a "feature" that will hide those icons, you usually can hit the arrow and see them. Go to start..settings...taskbar and start menu..choose the customize button towards the bottom. There you will be able to change the defaults. If that's not the case..sounds like you have a flakey install.
