MSN Instant Messanger Compatibility?

I know almost everyone uses AOL Instant Messanger. And I was wondering, if I get MSN Instant Messanger, would I be able to talk to the others.
Basicaly, is MSN IM compatible with AOL IM?

I read that MSN Messanger does video and audio. I would really like to try that. But I don't want to do that if it wont talk to AOL IM. I do know that if MSN is compatible with AOL, I still won't be able to use the video, but thats ok. I know some people getting XP and will be using MSN so it woulndn't be a total loss going to MSN.

The most current release of Trillian is v0.6351, which currently supports AOL IM, ICQ, MSN Messenger, IRC, and Yahoo! Messenger.
