A customer of mine is having this problem; I ran into it once before on a friend's computer and was able to solve it:
Every time they restart the computer, Internet Explorer's homepage changes to a long string (http://search-something.blah.blah-blah....). Clearing the cache, deleting history and deleting cookies do not solve the problem. Resetting the homepage works until the next restart.
The last time that I encountered this, I found that there was a file (downloaded from god-knows-where) on the computer. I simply had to delete this file, and the problem cleared right up. The file was either in the windows or the system directory. I believe that this only happens on WinME computers.
I've been searching for the past half hour, and have not been able to find the name of the file. My question is simply if anyone else has heard of this problem, and if so, do you know what the file that i deleted last time is?
