MSI Z68A-GD65 Overclocking Problem

Hi Guys

I built a new pc yesterday and it's all be reasonably straight forward until I tried to overclock my CPU. I'm not sure if I'm missing something, I have read a ton of guides for OC'ing my i5 2500k but nothing seems to be working.

My Problem is that I try and change the CPU Multiplier and save and reboot, but on restart the Multiplier will go back to its default value of 33 - I have tried changing this many times, also changed it inside the operating system and it won't budge. Is this a fault with the CPU, Motherboard or am I missing a crucial setting to making this work?

My mobo is the MSI Z68A-GD65, Also when using OC Genie it says that the multiplier is set on 42 but on CPUZ my core says at 3300.

Any help would be appreciated

You sure you have a 2500K?

🙂

Personally, MSI and Me have not had good overclocking experience. I'm not sure what the issue would be. Can you post your CPUZ screenshot?
