Is the 6 pin PCIe connector plugged in at the bottom of the board? I had the same issue as the OP with my Unify board & thought it was for an extraordinary powered GPU at first. Afaik MSI are the only vendor to do this with mid to upper Z590 boards. They have designed the cpu power wiring on these boards in a unique way no doubt.

Well if your sure all the necessary power supply cables are plugged into the appropriate sockets as outlined in the mother board manual & that most certainly is a supported cpu the 11900k.
If the board is mounted in a case, take it out & test on a wooden board or rubber mat. You could have a short somewhere. The debug light for cpu & other components should light up if there is a problem apart from shorting.

Hi, thanks for your help. I have previously fitted this in another case with same result, i will try it out of the case, if I get the same result, does that mean the cpu is faulty, i want to make sure, as it is £500 for a new cpu, I just wondered if it was because the cpu was a unlocked type. I really thank you for taking the time to help me. thank you sammy

Nah, your choice of an unlocked cpu will have no bearing on if the board works or not. Only in a very rare situation IF the cpu is faulty would that be the case. To rule that out, you'd have to run the cpu in another board to be sure.

A good general rule of thumb in this scenario is to test the suspect item with known working components in order to isolate the faulty item.

Hi, Thanks for your reply, I dont have another i9 computer, so it looks like I will have to buy a new cpu. I have checked the motherboard out of the computer with no graphics card and it still no cpu detected. Thank you for all your help and time. Sammy22

Get a PSU tester to make sure you have power to all leads connecting to the MOBO.

They're maybe $20 on Amazon and can save you a headache of swapping things if it's just the PSU that's acting up.

I would definitely get a motherboard to test with before dropping money on a new CPU. Even a B560 board can be used, it doesn’t need to be fancy, it only needs to have that CPU on the supported CPU list.

I would stay away from 4xx series chipsets because 11 series CPUs were not a sure thing with them, and likely required a bios update even if they did support them.

I guess you could also buy a pentium/i3 to test your board but a bad CPU seems way less likely then a board that needs to be RMA’d.
