OK I finally got all the parts together for my new build, and I tried to put my WD Black M.2 NVMe SSD on it, but it appears like the SSD is almost an inch too long??

I thought WTF, wouldn't it say somewhere if the mobo only supports smaller size M.2 SSDs? So I went on the newegg site and double checked, and it says
M.2
1 x M.2 slot (on the botton of the motherboard)*
* SATAe port is backward compatible with SATA
And in the features part it says:

Turbo M.2 32Gb/s: Supports 2 sizes of M.2 SSDs, on the back of the motherboard

But doesn't say what sizes?? WTF!

Am I screwed here and have to ship back the SSD to newegg? I've never had to return something before...

After browsing google for options, I think a piece of double sided foam tape is my best solution :S

After more reading, I guess I'll blame newegg for not posting the M.2 specs this board supports, namely 2242 & 2260.. being my first M.2 drive purchase I didn't know, even after a lot of research, to MAKE SURE my motherboard supported the 2280 size :(

That's kind of wierd, most board do support the 2280 size. I believe that's the most popular consumer-oriented size, especially for DIY PCI-E M.2 SSDs. (Most of the shorter ones, are OEM designs, that you would have to purchase grey-market off of ebay.)

Yeah I was very surprised...

Oh well, thankfully I have a roll of two sided foam tape laying around :)

Just check the temps with the foam tape because the drives sometimes get kind of hot depending on the controller. And it seems like a major oversight on MSI's part as the 2280 size is far and away the most common builder M.2 drive.
