<< By the way we get your point NFS4..YOU HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH THE ECS!!!!Have you made it a quest to bad mouth ECS??? >>

Good point Duvie,I am sure if his K7S5a performed fine (replace his PSU) then he would be the first to sing on the rooftops how great ECS is.;)

Btw i have used both too.

If all things being equal( mainly price), I would choose Abit or Asus.
If all things being equal( mainly price), I would choose Northwood 2.2a over XP2000+

Now this poll doesn't make sense, as all things are not equal.

MSI. Based on my limited experience, they are very well made reliable stable boards. I am quite happy with my 2 6309's and my K7T Turbo non raid. My 6309's have been overclocked since they were built and have really worked well. My K7T Turbo runs an 850 Duron at default, but has been impressive in its performance. (Well, at least to me :p) While I have no personal experience with ECS, I have looked at them and been tempted by their very attractive prices, but the old adage "you get what you pay for" keeps me from trying one. And unfortunately, I am a creature of habit (witness the two 6309 systems), if something works well for me, I tend to stick with it. When I did decide to venture out and build an AMD system, MSI was the only board I considered based on my previous experiences with the 6309's. I have not been disappointed with the K7T Turbo's performance. I am even considering yet another version of the 6309, the 694T to use with my 900 Celeron processor and resurrect my old PIII 600E for the older of the two boards to put together a "work only" system for my wife to use, while my 3 boys and I play games and surf on the little 3 system home network.

I would go with MSI,reason being I prefer brands by Asus,Epox,MSI since they are my top 3 favourites :).

Never had an ECS board so can`t speak on the quality etc, however with MSI which I own is rock stable and never given me any problems.

:)

You fanboys need to give it a rest. If you actually read the whole thread, you'd see why I posted this thread. It's b/c Pabster ASKED me too. He asked for it, I posted it:D And I have not bad mouthed ECS at all in this thread.

I've had a bad experience with an ECS board. It was for the P3 and Mendocino Celeron. It had Slot1 and PPGA compatibility. It wasn't all that stable. The BIOS options were horrid. The layout was terrible as well. ECS has improved the quality of their boards since then. However, I do feel MSI has a bit of an edge when it comes to stability and the tweaking/overclocking crowd. They also come with better features on their boards most of the time.

NFS4 ,we all get the odd bad remark so just ignore them ;).

I liked to know why Pabster wanted this thread,no way ECS will win in the poll :).

Oh and if anybody thinks I`m flaming ECS for my remark above I`m not,I just can`t see ECS winning this poll ok .

Btw I should have known Pabster was behind this :D .

Pabster do you want to buy my "MSI rocks!!" T-shirt ? :D ;).
