Hi,
I can't decide which motherboard suited for which CPU.
First of use case.
I am a productivity user WFH kinda guy. I am in I.T. (Network & Security). I am planning to use AMD Ryzen 7 2700X. So 90 % is work related. 10 % maybe gaming Diablo 3 hee eee :D
My son 100 % gaming maybe -1% school. This year he will going highschool. I have pre order the AMD 3300X for him.
I was originally bought the B450 M.B. for my self because of Store Mi feature, I didn't get to install this M.B. till CoViD 19. I thought I would install this MB and sell my MSi B350.
Why did I care for AMD Store Mi, because I was impress with Intel SSD caching, I just wish it as larger then 64 GB
Now I have bought the AMD Ryzen 3300X, I am thinking I will give my son MSi B350 and give him Samsung B die memory G Skill F4 3200-14
and I will use Gigabyte B450. Now AMD Store Mi is gone, and version I use which was worst then Intel SSD Cache feature. Also it does not have com port header. ( I use that console into network devices)
Now I am trying to see more objectively, which hardware is suited among them self.
AMD 3300X + MSi B350 + RX 580 and AMD Ryzen 2700 X + Gigabyte B450 + RX 480
or
+ Gigabyte B450 AMD 3300X + RX 580 and MSi B350 + AMD Ryzen 2700 X. RX480
I am not into O.C. I don't mind factory boost. However no O.C..
O.C. days are behind me, I want stability
Memory choices are G Skill F4-3200 F 14 vs G skill 3000 16
Thanks

What I was asking, was why certain MB is good for certain CPU.
In other words, If I install Ryzen 2700 on B350, will it be disservice to to Ryzen 7 2700 ?
or
B450 is more suitable for Ryzen 3300X, offcourse one MB have WiFi and Bluetooth, but beside that, what is missing out from by going certain way?
Thanks

The newer chips have an easier time reaching higher RAM speeds on newer boards.
Other than that, B350 is comparable to B450.

If the B350 was already running DDR4-3200 cL14, there is little to improve from there

VRM temps for that 2700x will be better on the B450. That old Tomahawk can handle the 2700x, but it will get pretty toasty under heavy load.
