Just bought one of these for a paltry £30 and installed it. Christ, the thing flies compared to my last Panasonic 6x DVD drive. I didn't think i'd notice an increase that much but the seek times are very low, read speed very high, and MSI's support ain't bad either. However, I updated the firmware to 1.03 and both the LiveUpdater and Windows froze when I tried to shut it down. However on reboot the flash seems to have worked, although I notice a slight decrease in speed on the DVD read times.
Does anyone know if there's and Multi-region firmware available for this drive yet? Or is there a generic piece of firmware I can download that will work on most drives? I know you can get software region changers but I would prefer it in hardware so it's more permanent.:beer:
